Board
As a non-profit organization, we have a board and are currently looking for volunteers to sit as directors.
Requirements for a Victim Services Board of Director:

18 years of age or older

Previous board experience an asset but not necessary

Willing to attend monthly meetings; help with grant applications and contribute to fundraising events

Be open to participating in other projects or committees for Victim & Witness Support events

Be willing to work in partnership with the local RCMP, the Victim & Witness Support Director and the Alberta Solicitor General Victims’ Program

The board of directors for this not-for-profit society is responsible for the governance of the program. In general terms this means that the board is responsible for providing strategic planning for the program, and developing and implementing program policy. Board members must be or become knowledgeable about the program and its financial affairs. The board has a heightened duty of care with respect to the protection of its charitable properties.

2 - 4 hours per month commitment for monthly meetings; additional time may be required for planning and implementing fundraisers or events on a subcommittee.

Must pass a criminal record check
